ok then, which cranks should i get? max. £150, need to be very strong, and take 2 or 3 rings.

2 rings middleburn xc duo. 3 rings xt with bb/raceface turbine lp.

Shimano with a splined BB, you can then chop and change the rings as you please...

or can you get an adaptor for the likes of profile cranks which will be super-strong.

save up another £50 and get raceface north shores. they're very, very nice.

ive been told that them next lps have fake carbon stickers on them
is this true?
Show/hide user stats
yes, the 'carbon' on one side (the outside) is a sticker. Otherwise, banging the crank on something could cause serious damage to the carbon. On the inside of the crank arm, the carbon is real. There's no disputing the fact that they're bloody nice if you ride XC. I don't think I'd get on with them.

Ok, heres a hard one for you all,

Money no object
Blue 175mm cranks, standard size bolt pattern, got to match hope/ringle blue.

Help, apart from kooka I'm stuck.

Race Face Next LP in blue looks pretty similar.
Or Cook Bros E2 or F series.
destructo, iv'e not so much perfected it, i did it twice once on a heap-o-shite rigid and once on a mates (sadly departed) stab dee-lux. (it died when my mate buggered up a garage roof drop-off) but i might build back upto it on the compo, i just hope my ankles still work.

ermm what about AC lo-pro cranks
arent they quite strong
oh yeh they can only take a single chainring
i don't care too much about the more than one ring thingy because i can just get some powerpros and use them for XC

I've got RACEFACE PRODIDGY ISIS and Shimano XT, both are about the same price. The PRODIDGY is probably more durable. I'm getting a turbine next.

"raceface prodigy isis v v good"

LOL..not after 2 pairs of Prodigy DH and 1 pair of Prodigy XC, they are ok for XC but stay away if you ride hard=snap!

try DMR Chieftan MKII (£125 including b/b) and a DMR spider for £15 which will take 3 rings!
