I've got Revs and I must say I'm impressed. I bought them for my cotic as I was impressed with the Rebas that came on my Lapierre. They are pretty much fit and forget, though you do need to check the pressure in them from time to time. They have always been relaible have not failed on me through 2 years or riding through mud. I personally haven't noticed much dive but I do tend to run them faily hard. The nice thing for me is the adjustabillity. I usually run them around the 110mm mark but for the odd downhill I have the choice of winding them out quickly and easily.
i certainly noticed a difference kato, although most of my riding is in the peaks so i couldnt comment if the difference would be as noticable on say, smooth single track for example..
I'm the same weight as you Kato and run Coil Revs - if you buy them from TFT then they change the spring and tune them for your weight for no extra charge. Downside is that you end up paying RRP on them, rather than getting a cut price deal somewhere else on the internet.
I've been very pleased with mine. That said, if you get on with your old forks then why don't you just give them a service? There must be somewhere that does them in the UK, even if TFT/Mojo don't do Maguras.
Yeah, Magura UK will servive them, but 110mm Ronin's are very short (axle - crown) for their travel. Fancy swopping to a longer fork, as I reckon my 456 will be less twitchy with the accompanying slacker head angle
I seem to remember Dylan had a similar problem on his GT Kato and solved it by swapping spacers from under the stem to under the crown race (he used a a top compression spacer as a crown race).
Changing from 105mm Marzocchis to 130mm Rev's (and an 80mm stem) transformed my 456. I ummed and ahed about U-turn but I doubt it would have seen much use. My local rides involve a fair bit of road and the lockout is handier than I expected - the 260 quid jobs from Merlin give you that from the Poploc on the bar. In two years the only maintenance I've done is smeer engine oil on the stanchions after the occasional wash.
