Yeah, definately something to do with the damping, was looking at the tuning section on the fox site and apparently I have too much compression, which considering it ain't adjustable (by me) says summat is afoot internally.
It is over a year since I had it serviced by mojo so it is ready I know, but it has always had most of these symptoms to a certain degree, but usually one or t'other in a random assortment of a mild flavour. It has always pedalled well and never died on me, just a bit inconsistent, somedays plush and well controlled, somedays very harsh and uncompliant, etc.
Considering I want a bit more compliance and better more consistent rebound, and the fact that it'll cost me £90 for a service and another £30 if I want it tuned, thats half the price of a nice ex 200 which has the properties I'm after... also I don't have the funds available atm for a service/tune but I can afford the deposit for the nice goodies from crc... I'm itching to click the mouse!
I can then at a later date get the float serviced and tuned as a spare or, if the ex200 doesn't pedal quite as well, alternative for more xc oriented rides.
Will just make sure I don't win the marin wolf ridge from mbuk first... (like that's gonna happen!)
Yeah, I can get the wolf ridge for 18 month 0% but that is a £190 deposit then £95 per month for 18 months, far too much of a burden financially, don't forget I earn less than half of what you do!
The stuff for the enduro will be £65 deposit then shuffle away £48 a month for 12 months, £50+/- per month being the most I can palate 'comfortably'.
I'll have the same forks as the wolf and a better shock, the head angle ain't as good but that's it.
Remember with the Vanilla Andy there is no pro-pedal type function. I've got a vanilla on my bighit and its bob city when pedalling. Thats why I started to fit the DHX4 to it.
As for the vanilla, I bid on one with pro-pedal, and bob depends on suspension configuration a lot, but not really fussed about coil on the back mainly because of potential bob.

The new shock is great, and although I take marketing claims with a pinch of salt, especially when quoting air suspension being like a coil, it really is like a coil, it's uncanny(well, apart from the air can... ).
Only done two rides on it so far, so is still bedding in yet, but it works very well with the fsr rear end. Small bump is supreme, like riding with a half flat rear tyre but with no wallow or squirm, and climbing is something else- where the constant rocks and bumps would previously interrupt the pedal stroke or break the traction, and generally bounce you around, the bike now sits dead still and clambers over everything without fuss, plenty of power transfer and traction, even when standing up which used to result in squish and wheelspin. I sometimes want to reach for the itch switch to give a bit extra zip, which is purely psychological as there is loads of power transfer, your mind just tells you that there isn't as the back feels very soft, until you push on the pedals and prove it wrong!
The only 'problem' I do have is 'reading' the back end as I can't feel it skittering over the bumps and how it's reacting to stuff as it's totally active and follows the trail like a magnet. I'll soon pick up on the subtleties though.
