With the arrival of the new Reign somewhere around the 14th (now ) can someone recommend me a thick hefty chain lock to loop through the frame and an anchor to be installed into the ground?

There's - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=19433

Or - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=8495

and maybe - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=8498

Alternative to bike shops got some nice products at good prices. Best do a search for ground anchor as there not in bike security?

what are you storing the bike in first?

if its in a shed good luck

I'm sure the likes of sad bloke will agree with me..

A bike lock and ground anchor should be the LAST line of defence for your bike the idea is to stop them getting anywhere near it

decent door, locks, bars on windows, net curtains, alarm systems, German Shepard should all come first......

Why not just move your bed into the shed with the bike?

keep bikes in bedrooms, they don't get in the way that much

It's going to be stored in a locked garage. Just a locked garage and few parents above on the second floor.

also useful to hold bin bags

put two steel pins through the garage door and into the concrete floor it will stop the door being forced

also get a good hardwood door and frame or even a steel door

this will make them think its going to be tough to get into the garage

but as always if they want it that bad they will find a way in

There's only one way into that garage and that's from the front.

I think the door is steel though, none of this shitty flexible plastic crap on Persimmon/Barratt homes that a baby can lift with the little finger.

no but if they can get some thing down the side of the door they may be able to bend it back get in then open the door

if you put two steel pins in each side of the door it makes it very hard for them to do this

But how am I meant to put two steel pins in the door when the only access if from the front?

I'll bend their fucking faces back, castrate them and then make them eat their own worthless bollocks!

(tries to calm down)

Keep it under your bed/in your room/ in your parents room

really

It won't fit under the bed, I could put it in the pointless through way room that contains - one phone, mirror and a drawer. Large space in there.

Parking the car right up against the garage door will certainly prevent them from opening it.

those up and over doors with the center turn handle are very easy to gain entry even if its a multi point locking system... If you know how (dont ask because i wont tell but it is stupidly easy)

look into something like this

I use motorbike chains and locks, 2 of em and a 2 wall anchors bolted in with 4 tamperproof bolts. I got them off ebay are cheaper than cycle ones and better IMO.

The bedroon is the safest answer ...really. After the theft of my bikes from the basement of my old flat I moved them into the flat itself and bought a bike stand a bit like this one so they didn't take up to much space and the bikes became like works of art on the wall too!

Your garage might have only one entrance, but I heard of three MB's being stolen by the chavvy, scummy beestards taking the bricks out at the rear end.  Keep them in the house and D-lock em to a wall anchor attached to an outside wall.  Doesn't look that bad.

And dont leave any tools lying around in case they get in.

James like ive said numerous times in private mails to some on here and in public, theyll try and get in no mateer what, all you can do is delay them and theyl go else where.

I fit security products so know.

Will send you some tips by email , just let us have an email address , so i can send the same details to anyone else interested.

Sadbloke.
