Every day you see a thousand other people all wearing the Respro masks and I never thought anything about it. But then I saw this chap the other day with what looked like some kind of WWII gas mask and it looked ace. Always looking for new ways to give car drivers the willies... )
Does anybody else use anything other than Respro masks to filter air? I'm thinking of maybe finding my old Darth Vader helmet thing from the loft and putting a filter in there 8)
I have been told by a lung specialist and cyclist that they are effectively useless and could infact cause deeper damage as they make you breathe deeper.
You might as well tie a buff around your face they do jack all.
Thanks BHB... I always wondered about that. Just been looking at industrial masks (that get proper certifications for heavy manual work instead of good old fashioned marketing).
The doc on the BBC series 'don't die young' did an experiment and only inhalled any slightly toxic stuff when she was right up the back of a big lorry. Reconed a mask was useless.
