My sister is going to New York next week, so im thinking of getting Jensons to ship to her hotel. Only worry is if the delivery is delayed or something goes wrong, then i wont be able to get the goods
Frichie - be careful relying on Jensons to make a timed (or promised) delivery. I've known a few people who've used them and been told stuff is on the way and three weeks later they're still waiting.
The delivery address service that XC pointed out is a good route to take (but you'll often find that their postal rates are significantly higher than shipping direct). If it's a brand that prohibits shipping to the UK (like Fox) that you want to get then you may have no other option but if it's general sale stock I'd just go to a decent LBS and get them to ship it to you.
Reply politely stating that they know where they can stick their invoice.
No. Tempting as that may be, best not.
If they've assessed your package (ooer) and decided that it's got duty and VAT payable it's best not to try and argue the point as they can punish you by tripling the charge. I'd only complain if you've got a genuine case of being billed for a gift.
Nice saving though! And importers say they don't make much profit
