I've been using Geax LocoLobo 2.35 UST for about 10 months, it's the best tyre I've ever used up front. It's grippy in most conditions but the thing that impressed me most is cornering with them, they hook up really well. The wear is fantasic too, I noticed this morning that they look like new! (I can't be riding enough). I've been through a lot of tyres over the past few years but I'm about to order another two Locolobos for the Prophet. They're not too good in mud however, they clog up a fair bit, but then all tyres do apart from mud specific ones.
Very informative, 9/10, If you had had the barro it'd have been a 10
So did you use their Pitstop inflator? I haven't gone tubeless yet but the squirt can sounds like less hassle which is what these tubeless types seem to moan about all the time.
I was going to try nobby nic but they are so pricey. Geax looks cheaper. And how can i not buy from this chap
I don't rate Nobby Nics at all, if you're an aggressive rider they wash out very easily in my experience, not just the time I dislocated my finger either. I find that if I'm leaning hard into corners they like to say goodbye to the ground.
Think I will try the Barro Mountain. they even do a Lobo Mas Loco for aggresive chaps such as yourself. - "Fast tyre for "New School " extreme freeriding." Golly!
I bought a 26x2.1 Barro Marathon mostly because it was cheap, used it on the rear of my HT.
It kept dumping me - back would just slowly disappear. Tried different pressures to see if a faff would sort things but no. Sketchy on most kinds of riding, but worst on trail-centre trails, with that hardpacked wet grit - just where you'd think it would hang on the best actually.
I'm back to Pana Fire XC now which suit me far better.
PS - no experience of the 'mountain' - might be an entirely different doughnut.
