As the weather is decidely wet and is likely to stay this way until end of next spring I need a new cycling jacket - looking at spending £80-120, must be waterproof, breathable and comfy when under a camelbak.
Polaris and Endura or Gore offerings seem fave at the moment, what do you lot recommend ?
But Arc'teryx kit is supremely amazing kit...rounded sewn edges to prevent wear 50% narrower seam tapes and they invented the reversed waterproof zipper.
Seriously their kit is utterly amazing...thankfully I got mine from the sales rep's promo tester bag
BHB - isn't that a mountaineering jacket rather than mtb specific?
Ahh, yeah I kinda negleted to read further than 'decent waterproof'
eVent over Gore here too - had a paclite that made me melt but got a Gill Prospeed eVent jacket to replace it & have been very pleased with it. (the one that kept me bone dry int' Peaks BHB)
Endura Event jacket has done me very good service over the last year and a bit, I live and ride in the lakes so its had a good testing ground. The one thing I would mention is I tend to find I get very cold very quickly when I stop, its not so bad when I have a fleece on as well as a jersey.
I've a Lowe Alpine Triple Point and it's great (actually got it from TK Maxx) not sure if its what you'd call cycling specific as there are no rear pockets or droptail of which to speak.
I've always rated Triple Point as one of the better coated waterproofs.
