I've just posted a wanted ad for 26" rigid disc forks for commuting, but since it is a ghost town over in the ads section, I thought I would post here too. 200mm steerer preferred, equivalent length to 80-100mm forks, 1 1/8in. If I don't get anything I'll probably just pick up some brand new Kona forks or something. If anyone has anything they are looking to get rid of (Pace, Kona, Orange, anything else considered), let me know. I'll pay sensible money but can't afford a fortune. See http://www.bikemagic.com/classifieds/wanted.asp?w=1561&sp=,%20,%20,%20&v=1 for details.

Surly Instigators are nice and cheap new if nothing turns up.

Ding's got some Bonty carbon ones that he's trying to sell, he may be around later

I may have a set of Genesis steel rigid forks (disc only) coming up soon as there should be a pair of Shimano Pro carbons going on my Genesis iO. Not sure of steerer length, will have a measure later.

Those eXotic carbons are pretty decent - got a set on the commuter which occasionally gets taken off-road and they're a lot more forgiving than the steel ones they replaced.

Thanks for the comments so far. I had noticed those eXotics on eBay, so I'm pleased to hear some positive comments and I might be tempted by a pair of the disc/v-brake version which seem cheaper, although that would still be at the upper end of my budget. The Instigator looks good too (I prefer that straight look to the traditional curvy forks so I've added it to my little bunch of possibilities). Will pop back in later for an update.

Get the Exotics. Much better feel to them than steel forks. I got the disc/v-brake model and they are well worth the money.

No one with anything cluttering up the garage / shed / spare cupboard?!

P-ness - might be interested in those Genesis forks if they are available and the price is right.
|
 |
P-Ness's forks aren't available, so I'm still looking if anyone else has anything to offer.

Got a pair of projects 100mm corrected but the steerer is cropped to 175mm

Thanks for the reply William. Project 2s would fit the bill (looking for straight leg forks ideally), but 175mm steerer will be pushing it. I'll have a check when I get home this evening.

Yeah I was giving them dan but I just think I must have a teeny bike or something

William, thanks for the offer but I would really struggle to get my stem onto a 175mm steerer. Guess I'll just have to keep looking!
