Looking to get an adjustable seatpost (31.6) for my 5" trail bike. Looked at both the Joplin (3" adjustment) and the Superstar (5"), and would be interested to hear any comments about the relative merits of both - reliability, movement (slop), etc. Also not sure whether to go for remote lever or not - is it worth the extra cash ?

Also heard Superstar were going to launch a 4" model - is this true ?

Any other brands worth looking at ?

The post that superstar have seems to be getting the best reviews, especially for reliability and lack of slop, unfortunately SS don't exactly have a good reputation for customer service. the i950 which should be out for summer is I believe just an inline clamp version of the current model.
also check out the gravity dropper, which seems to have a simpler mechanism.

The customer service is great. Niel replaced my original 5 brake pads with 2 sets of 5 more but the problem is the pads where useless. All of them delaminated.

The pad fell off the backing.

And no matter what they told me about them having a bad batch, I had 3 different batches over a year..it seems every pad they sold me was the same. Must have cost them a fortune in postage..I only spent 20 quid in the first place.

hehehe.
