I do love the SS and will always use it for my commute (its flat 99% of the way)
But on weekends when I ditch the panniers and take it out for a sping around the lanes near my house I top out all the time and wish I had more gears to really go for it.
But I suppose its like any bike, I dont need one, and will probably not ride it often, but since the number of bikes required is the number of bikes already owned plus one, I think I will have to get one.
I am also wanting another SS road bike as I dont like the alu frame on the tricross, I want something in steel.
I do think its fair to point out they since there run by the "the number of shoes required is the number of shoes already owned plus one pair more" rule then the same must apply to bikes.
