Hello

I'm looking for a new lid but am not totally flush with wongas at the moment so am considering the 2007 GIRO Hex.

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=36706

Can anyone give me any info on it, comments, feedback etc?

I currently use a GIRO E2 that's been bashed about, has the internal cage thing broken and smells like a rugby players jockstrap....

King Richard -  I didn't bother ringing them in the end as googling my lid it turned out to be a 2003 model!

I had no idea it was that old tbh..

Cheers Jimmy, I'll take a look at the Fox

THIS PLACE have the Hex for £37 apparently - seems a bargain but I've never heard of 'em!?

There are deals around on E2's & Animas too as they're being discontinued.

I tried the Hex when looking a few months back & to me it didn't feel right. I've always had a Giro shaped head in the past so was a tad confused.

Don't think I'd buy one without trying it.

hex fits me well (many others didn't fit right) so i suppose its a matter of trying it on ...

offers plenty of protection lower down round the back of they head unlike many standard lids

Hex doesn't fit me either in fact the best fitting helmet for me is the Giro Indicator.

Bonus for the wallet shitter for the Trail Cred.

hmmmmmmm, cheers chaps -  all interesting stuff

The problem is that my lbs is sh!te, hence I can'y try stuff on.

Knowing that my current Giro seems to fit I was kind of hoping that a new Giro wouldn't be too different internally..

Think I have the Hex Dan... pretty sure it was will check tonight,  if its same its V. nice, offers bit more protection round the back than most. Pretty well vented, but not roady aired. Never felt to hot in it.

yup, mine is a hex, think its 08, great helmet Dan... I'd buy another if I had to chage, best i've had yet.

BTW, that green one woulda matched your Reign...what colour goes with Red ?

Ah right, cool. ..not sure what goes with red tbh!

I might have to get a Giro Havoc though as I'm going to have £150 of accessory vouchers to spend at Halfrauds and that's the best they do

Suppose I could use that for commuting then buy the hex later..

If you have low set.ears (due to inbreading) Giros should fit. I tried some on and found the cradle sits on top of your ears

Dans from the flat lands so pretty sure to be inbread in some way.

Mine is HEX, rather good, used to have a thing against giro helmets, but the hex had the features, styling and price that I was after, I won't go back now, fits like a glove, has just enough ventilation too without being minimalist on the protection side of things.
