As above, can you confirm the seatpost diameter for an aluminum Scott Scale?

The Scott website isn't working for me and I 'think' it wants a 31.6 post.  Have seen a couple of other mentions of a 31.6 post, but wanted someone in the know to set me straight

muchos xx

The website lists the Scale 40, 50, 60 & 70 all as having 31.6mm.

In fact, IIRC, that was a criticism of them as it seriously limits what you can use & the Scott warranty is voided if you use shims to run a more 'normal' size post.

It is a 31.6, which is a very common size, probably second only to 27.2 in fact.

OTOH the carbon frames have 34.9, which were criticised heavily as they're heavy and hard to come by, which is presumably the ones you were thinking of Nobby? They also look ridiculous!

How would they know you had shimmed it unless you told them ?

Possibly - just remembered there being some fuss about Scott seatpins on the Scale.

Perhaps if the frame failed & it was jammed in there or summat? It was all part of the same debate.

As Nick says, the alu ones are an entirely commonplace 31.6. The carbon ones are a completely weird size that no-one else uses. Although I do have a 31.6-34.9 shim kicking around in the shed
