Really? SS might be slightly worse than geared cycling because of the lower kadence and higher pressure on the ups but I can't believe it's worse than impact exercises like running.

Might see if I can access some physio journals at work and look for some published evidence. Not that there's anything wrong with internet heresay!

heresay admittedly, but none of the long term SS'ers I've met have had knee issues, most say it builds up the joint.

I'm sure there's potential for damage from trying too hard at first - not come across it myself tho'.

but yeah, I do get occasional knee-ache on my geared bike tho'.
