I've finally got a back wheel. Gave up waiting for my old one to be repaired and got one built up a Merlin. Any plans this wednesday? Couldn't make this weekends dig due to being in good old London town.
Hi guys got the XTR shifters and shadow mech on yesterday and went up kemple. The shifting is fantastic. Found riding very therapeutic in the current cicumstances.
hi graham you got mail , i wont be out this weekend i had to buy a new catalyst for the car so really skint and work is going down to 35 hours from next week so things not looking good at the moment
Not much of any use really Graham. The really muddy parts were the climb up to the moor from the road near Rylstone and there's a long uphill straight from Halton East that's hard to get purchase on with High Rollers but after that you're on loose rock so it's easy going.
The sandy track at the top of Embsay moor is really well drained (if a little wallowy) and the downhill to Halton Heights is superb. There's some mud coming out of the Westy Bank Wood towards Bolton Abbey. Most of my photos are of Grouse and the signpost at the top and me bike nothing special. I want to get meself a Nikon D40 as me phone cameras a bit crap.
I'll be doing a Loop from East Marton up to Malham tomorrow about 30 miles or so. Should be fun if the fog is anything like todays!
I got to East Marton. Got me gear on went down the hill to the canal couldn't change gear (all frozen), bugger, brakes not working properly either, fluid must have been close to freezing. Went back up hill to car, got the De Icer out everything worked a treat. Did about 5 miles fingers and toes would not warm up at all. Route was closed to cyclists. tried to drink hydration fluid, all frozen solid ><.
Thought bugger this if owt happens I'm screwed. Got some nice piccies on the way back along the canal though.
Went To Hurst Green and biked up fell for glorious views all around and could see a snowy topped Pen-y-ghent.
I also took a panoramic picture job but it's not great.
