I won't be just headed home as the A66 has been shut most of the day and the A69 / A1 was supposed to be bad and I'm not sure what the weather was going to do.
When I came past Whinlatter there looked to be a lot of snow and major low cloud / snow falling.
Enjoy
No worries Steve, I'm going to see what this weather does as the A66 was shut up on Bowes moor, and that's about the same height as around the Reeth area./
Quick coffee & chat in Cyclewise then we set off up the North side. The snow was a bit soft and made the climb hard work but otherwise a good ride.
We then crossed the road and pedalled(nearly)all the way to the top, thats the bottom pic. Snow was crisp & grippy on this side. Not a bad climb but some of the corners are very tight!!!.
The views were stunning and we stopped on the top for a bit just taking in the view all the way over to the "golf ball" on Cross Fell, amazing!!! In the other direction we could see over the Solway to the Homeland....Just one of those "glad we did it", must come back days.
With the snow on the ground the down was a bit vague in places but is ffffuuunnnn!!!!! Could easily do a double loop just for kicks.
