Ripped off my ass. Shops make more profit on food, clothes & CD's. Incidentally the margins quoted are worldwide, not just UK. If you want to complain about the prices paid in the UK then I'd suggest you sign the petition to get the Government to zero rate VAT on bikes & accessories.
Bike shops have to make a profit & cover expenses just like any other business. You're actually only looking at a profit of around 5-8% after everything else is taken into account.
When the LBS owners I know, start driving around in ferrari's then they are over charging us, in the mean time they are just making a profit to live off and covering there costs and huge over heads!!

I dpn't think the Alchemist series are ugly. In fact, I'm willing to wager that if the model in question had a Specialized sticker on it people would love it.
At least Marin are branching out a little. I hope they bring the full range to the UK instead of their habit of Cherry picking.
