Sometime soon funds wil mean that the single speed can be resurrected and be a complete bike for my Dad to hit his head on in ther garage, rather then just a frame. One issue is that the chain is dead, and I have no idea what is a decent light replacement. I had a SRAM chain on it before and it was shit, full of stiff links (this may have been a BMX chain but didn't appear to be as stout as some). Also I don't really want to go putting on a heavy BMX chain as I have turned into a gram counting type of late......
I'll possibly give one fo the connex race BMX chains a go, hopefully lighter.
Mike, I may be overreacting, but I don't trust a thinner geared chain on the SS, as I've broken enogh on the geared bikes (due to poor shifting I'm sure, but its not something you want in the back of your mind....)

Geared chains are ludicrously strong in a straight line. They have to be, otherwise they'd fall to bits instantly running at an angle. They only break on geared bikes because they've been joined badly, or got twisted and weakened, or simply worn out. Not a problem.
