The old git that is cwm0 is after a new set of brakes after his juicy 5's have fcuked up yet again. He's thinking of the hayes stroker, but my mate is flogging a nearly new set of shimano 525's for less than half the price of the hayes.

Which is the better brake out of the two? Are the 525's any good as i may get them for the hardtail

I got them.

They took ages to break in.

Now they are f00kin fabtastic!

The Hayes would be better overall but not twice as good - the 525's are fine brakes for the money.

Saw THESE a short while ago - if he's quick they seem bargainous....

I had 4years of trouble free service until I kinked the hose of trouble free M525 service,  great little budget brake,  unlike this Juicy ARSE brakes.

I'm sure he'll be here to ask himself after he's finished shagging his missus.He's trying to get her to say yes to these brakes.

He wants to bin those juicy's Dyl, they spend more time in the shop being bled etc then they do on the trails..

Get the stroker unless pure XC riding.

The 525's are fantastic brakes, I love 'em to bits, but they are very fade prone due to the old technology, the heat gets to the fluid very easy and boils them up pronto.

The stroker are seriously powerful and hugely heat resistant.

well, the'shagging' to get a set of brakes,as ding put it didnt exactly work,so i'll have to think of something else,but i am sold on the hayes brakes,just got to work out how to get them.
