You can sell booze at school events, just need a temporary events license.

Almost all of out ptfa events are now non-dry, and adds a fair few quid to the funds.

Not with a C of E school unfortunately

That came up last year & is just a bullshit excuse

Yeah well how many qualified Fire Marshals do you know?

They needed five apparantly!

3.

As Luke says - failing which there are agencies that provide them along with suitable equipment.

Lol.

It's not the Church that's the problem - our Vicar is quite often to be found in one of the local pubs - but a number of the Governors.  I've tried persuading them, even came up with a solution which meant we didn't need a licence but it still got refused.

There's a simple way around this, get yourself on the board of governors .

Thats how I got on the ptfa last year, the previous commitee were crap, so I got on the commitee and last year we had a great year, the highest amount raised ever and also meant we could donate more than ever before. This year I've not got the free time during the days which is when they have there meetings , but anything major is still passed via me for approval, as I deal with the legal side of things for them, and also normally spot any problems before they arise. For instance they want a big ball as a fundraiser and were going to pay someone thousands of pounds to use there manor house, which is a local wedding venue, in the hope of clawing it back in ticket sales, until I reminded them that one of the parents own a castle and if talked to nicely might not charge the normal 5-6 grand a day hire charge for us

I already am! Up against the 'established' members things like this are a bit of a battle...

No fireworks for me.  I didn't think Baby Bump would have appreciated them.  There may be fireworks tonight when I roll up stinking drunk and demand my dinner.

H&S should be about protecting the rest of us from that retard, if on the otherhand he kills himself, that's just darwinism at work, and he should be applauded for his practical work in helping to prove the validity of the science.
