Nah.  If I drink 2 pints of cheap lager I can piss at least double that.

Output is indeed related to input, as Nobby stated 2 pints of cheep larger results in a rapid diuresis (piss to you and me) of very dilute urine as the body strives to maintain homeostasis, conversely an inadequate intake of fluid or the on set of dehydration triggers  the kidneys into concentrating the urine by reabsorbing much of the water hence dark strong smelling urine.

My wife thinks i have strange drinking habits.  Whereas most people will drink a glass of juice etc when thirsty, i will drink a couple of pints straight down on a regular basis.  I do tend to drink gallons of dilute orange juice every week tbh.

This can make my pissing volume rather large.  I would say on a good day i could produce quite a significant volume of piss.

Would be quite interested to see how much.

Most people don't drink enough fluids in general, especially in winter. I'm like you Hobo, go through diluting juice by the bottle.   I'm always warm and get through 2-3l at my work including brews. My colleague who is always cold, hardly seems to drink at all though. Relevant maybe, or is he just chronically dehydrated all the time ?

Whilst at the Academy I have a 600ml bottle on my desk. It's quite funny as the instructors have had to deal with previous intakes ok 'UKers' who havebecome dehydrated and fallen ill. As a result they treat us like kids and regularly say "everyone, please drink a third of your bottle" then we are all expected to glug like crazy!!

Today I counted that I drank 5 bottles and reckon I pissed out 12 bottles. Still, no headaches although the 24 bottles of piss I've collected are starting to hget in the way.

You need a big bottle at least a gallon [5 litres]

Start at a specific time and piss at that time and dont collect it, 24 hours later last piss in bottle.

Thats what I'm doing 3 times this next week.

In an indoor cycling test I did a couple of years ago I lost 1.4 litres of sweat in an hour... Makes a 3 litre urine output for a whole day look piss poor...

Good to hear I'm not the only one who can drink a litre or two with dinner either - based on the one 1.5 litre jug for a table of 6 most restaurants seem to run without many people complaining, most people must be chronically dehydrated...

Sounds like you've been reading too from the 'must drink 2 litres of water a day' Mob.!

Personally I rely on my body to tell me how much fluid it needs.....if I need more fluid I get thirsty and if I don't....I don't!

Most folk, especially those active and those working in warm environments require more - sometimes considerably more- than 2L a day. A Warm environment doesn't necessarily need to be grafting hard outside in summer, most offices are heated to uncessary temperatures from my experience.

Thirst is a VERY poor indicator of dehydration, usually when you are thirsty you are already dehydrated.  Your piss should be light or ideally clear - not looking like lucozade.

Unless you are drinking copius amounts of water - and we are taking Iron Man racing standard - you aren't going to dilute the electrolytes in your body to a dangerous levels.

I think that once you get used to being well hydrated, you find you notice being dehydrated a lot more. I use to head out all day with one water bottle and maybe another small one, but now wouldn't dream of it as have finished the water bottle within an hour.
