can somebody tell me the procedure for changing the pads on the avid juicy 5 system

i'm a newbie

Use pliers and swear a lot!

Ease the pistons ALL the way back with a screwdriver inbetween old pads, get one pad to centre of caliper gap, pull out, then repeat for other. Getting new ones in is trickier as they both have to go in together with the anti rattle spring sandwiched inbetween.

Have a look on youtube, theres probably a couple of dozen vids explaining the intricate details involved.

IIRC the pads have to go in a certain way around (and I don't just mean the pad part facing the rotors) and it isn't that obvious which.

How come those springy things that are supposed to keep them apart and so crap?  My juicy 7 ones are always breaking , bending or wearing out?
