I dont own an air shock, but one of my friends who works at leisure lakes told me that the seal on early units is just an o-ring and in the past year(ish)they have now started using a proper wiper seal on the outside. Dont know, but it could be retro fitable, but I agree with the others lizard skins are a good idea.
