There are two companies (that I know about) that do laminated maps,
Lam-Fold (as someone else has pointed out) who I believed is based in Sheffield. The second is Aqua 3 who are based in the Hope Valley (Peak District), most outdoor shop stock one or the other. But I believe Aqua3 will soon have a full online catalogue, with secure online ordering.

Problem with laminated maps is the cost, about double that of a normal OS sheet.

Other solution is an Ortlieb Mapcase; they are about 12 quid from most outdoor shops and are superb. I've had mine for about 6 years and never got a map damp in torrential rain, or even when canoeing. Only downsides are the usual mapcase problem of showing a limited area, and they go a bit yellow with age but it's not got any signs of cracking yet. Superb bits of kit!

If you have a scanner on your computer, scan the bit of the (ordinary OS) map you want and print it off. You can then, if its wet, put this in plastic (map case, clear wallet etc.) and if by the end of the day its wrecked you've not lost much, if it survives you can use it again.
(You might also want to read copywrite rules on OS maps!)

Stuart is right the Ortlieb cases are great, really versatile + easy to stash on the outside of camelbacks e.t.c.

We have laminating machine at work which I am allowed to use, it may be worth asking if you have one too.

Another vote for Ortlieb. I've had my map in an Ortlieb strapped under bungies on the front of a sea kayak and sitting in puddles in the bottom of canadian canoes with no dampness problems!
