I have an 06 attack trail with Talas 130mm forks and I run the Tara linkage in its 5" setting. At the moment I'm regularly bottoming the rear shock (set correctly etc) and am using most of the fork travel. I like the current geometry and riding position with front and rear travel balanced and if I put it in the 6" rear travel setting it'll upset that as well as still being stuck with the forks running out of travel.
Has anyone put a 160mm fork on an attack trail and if so did it ruin the handling? Looking at the figures the 160 fork and putting it in the 6 " rear travel setting should keep the geometry fairly similar and raise the BB height a bit.
Would 140mm not be better? If you're happy with the TALAS then I'd suggest the latest model with the 100/120/140 travel adjust as you could adjust the front & rear to suit without upsetting the angles in every setting.
