Amen to BHB's sermon, use a lanyard unless you want to lose it and the Joystick's mount has a plastic cap screw that snaps if you hit something, much better than trashing your hat.  A replacement can be sourced from a good bolt supplier, I dread to think how much Exposure charge for one.

As for a lanyard, FFS don't pay Exposure's price, buy an AA tesco cheapie for the same money and get a free torch...

A little message from an 'anonymous' source

'Tell Monkey Trick not to use Zip Ties they go brittle and just keep snapping over the winter,   strips of inner tube work best and give abit on impacts.

Inner tube's a bit heavy though and would be difficult to tie around the helmet securely. I'll stick an extra zip-tie on in case of failure. I always carry spares.

One of my friends also had his joystick pop off mid-ride but he was lucky enough to find it again quite easily.

Damaging the Joystick mount probably wont be much of an issue for me, been doing mainly road riding.

On my old torch I had a fabric sheath for it that I attached with a velcro strap to the helmet, you can just pad under the torch then to raise the beam level.

www.ledfire.co.uk or www.flashaholics.co.uk  Otherwise you'll have to import it.  You may want to consider the 18650 powered torches, as opposed to the CR123 ones, check out the reviews on www.light-reviews.com  Don't limit yourself to Eagletac, but they seem to have created quite a good following in a relatively short time.
