i guys

Im trying to decide between the above two bikes- i have ridden the Jake Snake for 15 mins, and intend to do the same for the Spesh Tricross Sport. They are both the same price- which has the best spec? I Get the impression (im a novice really) that the Snake is a notch above the Tricross Sport??

Spesh Tricross Sport

Any opinions appreciated! They both seem to have similar purposes so, provided im equally happy on either- it boils down to spec!

Well the kona is specced with 105 so a touch better.

I own a tricross single speed and love it - the frame is ace - really soaks up the road buzz or bumps off road. Not ridden the Kona so can't compare. But I would recommend the spesh to anyone looking for a cross bike / tourer / commuter / audax bike / winter trainer.  I even considered fitting gears and using it in a couple of triathlons instead of my Allez...

Does the Specialized still suffer with fork judder under braking? If I spent £800 on a bike with such a fundamental flaw, I'd be really pissed off.

Bought my Tricross Sport about 5 weeks ago & have loved every minute I've spent on it!! Bit of a newcomer to roadbikes to be honest, but find it dead comfortable and 4-5 hour rides are nay bother in terms of comfort. Bought mine in preparation for a couple of long tours next spring & have fitted full mudguards & a rack...even with this extra weight it still feels dead light & fairly zips along. Had a certain sense of trepidation before I bought it as has read a few posts about brake problems, but touch wood I've had no problems...
