Had my first fixie ride today

Town stuff is a challenge ad takes some getting used to - nearly got chucked over the bars a couple of times when I tried to stop pedalling approaching light / junctions. Needs to adjust to using the brakes more.

Cornering is a bit freaky too as the natural inclination is to try to leave the inside pedal up away from the road....

Out on the road it's a lot of fun, a lot easier than I expected - the efficiency gain from not having a freewheel is quite large. Obvously I will now become a super smooth high cadence monster

Anyone attempting to ride fixed off road needs mental help though

EDIT: Currently still fancy the wife, so not been afflicted with any man love issues just yet...
