They have always had a totally over rated sense of their own worth - NME that is.

I'm with his Lord ship - will anyone in 5 years, even know who they are, let alone listen to them. Hardly makes a classic album then does it ?

That argument doesn't really stand up as at least 16 of the top 20 have been going for much longer than that.  An album can be a classic regardless of how long the band stay around.

It's not to do with the length of the band - how long they have been going is immaterial.

In 5 years - will anyone listen to those albums mentioned and say 'classic album that', in the vein of Leftism / Screamadelica from the 90's?  I suspect not.

Doesn't say whose Top 100 it is but I thought it was a much better list than the NME one.....then I read the top 3 and was nearly sick.

This would have stood a chance of making the NME top ten, if they'd reissued it!

Just had a look at the top 100 according to the Times - no mention of Neil Young's "Living with War", but Springsteen gets in the top 50 for is usual E-Street bland na-nan-naah tunes.

Will have to go and have a listen to Kid A again, see what I'm missing out on, aah yes 50 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

I suppose Them Crooked Vultures were too late for a noughties best of too.

Thing is, I really like Radiohead but Kid A just doesn't do it for me. Then again, I prefer Pablo Honey & The Bends to OK Computer which is herecy apparently.

I suppose the Times list is a tad more balanced than the NME but they're all bollocks really.
