Just changed my 07 sids on my Kona hei hei, for a new 09 sid and noticed that the front wheel(fsa) sits off center ! so do i need to have the wheel re-dished as i always thought that the front wheel was built on the center.

It's a problem with early 2009 SIDs, you need new lower legs. Talk to the wherever you bought them from.

Thanks Nick for the advice spoke to rock shox and they said that there was a batch that were wrong so they now have been returned to LBS , out riding over the weekend and there were 4 others with the same problem one guy didn't believe me until he swapped his re-dished front into his Fox forked H/Tail and it rubbed the right leg.

Well forks have been returned after having new lower legs fitted now the wheel sits in the middle of the legs and more importantly the wheel looks right now, but why didn't R/S do a recall ?

Probably because it won't get anyone killed and most people will just dish their wheel to sort it... Still a bit weird because this is a cast part, so either it warps a lot during cooling or the mould used was made wrong.

we were looking at about 7mm off center and i did re dish my wheel but when you looked the f/wheel it was not in line with the head tube and it felt like you were  p,%%ed, they machined to much off one side + some had drop outs that were different depths.

Poor qality control if it wasn't picked up at the manufacturers before it left them,if I were RS I'd be looking into it.

They have looked into it, and replaced the lower legs. As above, why bother to go to the cost of a recall for a non-dangerous fault that most people either won't notice, or will just rectify in time.

I bought some OEM SIDs from Merlin this week, be interested to see if they're pissed when I put a wheel in them!
