Fantastic ride at Holmbury/Leith Hills on Sunday morning.  Gorgeous as the bright sunshine in the forrest cut through the fog, lifting it to a beautifully sunny day.  I cannnot remember the last time we had tea and cake at the Leith Hill tower in the sunshine

Great conditions on the trails too, but unfortunately I switched my tyres to 1.9"  expecting lots of mud and they are not great on those tree roots and I chickened out on Deliverence (drop-off).... I'm putting my fat tyres back on today!

Quite a few ridders were interested in the Thu night ride so there may be a few more along this or next week.

We had a very pleasant pootle round the Wye ride - lovely when the sun eventually broke through. Thanks to Jane for the delish choc flapjack after! Sorry I had to dash, as it would have been the perfect day to chill with a beer by the river.........

Just for a change I did a race

And started from a different place

I drank some beer so I wouldn't fear

The cold wet mud that would appear.

First lap round was nice and fast

Dryish ground it was a blast

Remembered why I loved to race

To travel round at such a pace

Second lap and it was damp

I went bang my legs got cramp

It kept raining - gears were straining

Enthusiasm now was waning

I went back to the camp

With my stupid little lamp

I really was now in no hurry

To go back out in the slurry

I was quite mean - convinced the team

It would be nice to stay quite clean

I picked a time - bribed them with wine
