My biking buddies ride santa cruz nomad and hecklers which are top notch bikes and all 3 of them agree that Cube is a killer all mountain bike. So what you say or think is irrelavant to me dude. You can keep your bitter remarks to yourself.
LOL, very nice welcoming to this forum. well dudes i cant change my name and i defo dont want to change my bike. All i want is to get a few honest tips on which are good wheels for my bike (strong & lightweight), and Gourette mate, it would be awsone to get paid by santa cruz and still get to ride my cube...
cube is the porsche of bikes, for some of you its hard to uknowledge but time will convience you. this bike has been produced for two years and both years were sold out and it dont come cheap either, for 2 thou pounds theres a lot of competition out there.
Calm down Andreas, you are very welcome here. You must understand that not everyone has the same opinions - for instance, you've got more chance of seeing me run naked through the streets of Leeds (19.50 every Friday!!) than you have of seeing me ride a Scott, 'cos I think they all look rank! Lots of people love them, though - it's personal preference.
i dont like scotts either, hehe. thnx for the welcome part, its about time someone tries being polite here. I dont mind the critisism as long as its well inteneted. I went through a lot of research before buying the cube. I rode santa cruzs and i didnt feel comftable with the riding angle, same with GT's and specialized. cube feels much better on my bodytype and type of riding. no hard feelings to all, keep riding and keep laughing.
Guys, thanks again for the input. now having a look at the specs of both the lapierres and the cube im not so keen on the gears. Got Sram gears on my bikes at the mo and i quite like them. i will however see if i can demo one before i dismiss them.
I did test ride a pitch Pro lat weekend from a local bikeshop, only a couple of miles on the road unfortunatly but it gave me a bit of an idea of how it ride. I quite like i. its at the better end of my budget and at 31lb is fine in terms of weight for me.
I still like the treks aswell and the same shop stocks them so i will test ride one of those aswell. bbut the pitch looks like it will be the one i get at the moment.
They do the Mettle which is the 100mm xc bike and they have a few of those on offer (I think) and they also do a team version of the Mettle frame (scandium as apposed to alloy) supplied as a frame only with kit if needed.
Simon was saying they had a few Mettle's they could move out for quite a saving, which means someone could upgrade the fork and maybe wheels if they wanted to and make it a fast, light and still tuff trail machine.
