Isn't it part of the 'cross rules that you HAVE to have cantis?
Not as far as I know. UCI rules forbid discs, though. V brakes aren't very common in racing because STI levers don't play nicely with Vs. The old-schoolers running bar-end shifters could use 287V levers and Vs, but then if they were that keen on new-fangled technology they wouldn't be running bar-end shifters
If PLanet X has been aaround since before the Planet X brand! so other way round. As for IF - a mixture of ex Fat City and Merlin and simply the nicest bunch of people you can find. They build around 2 frames a day and they have almost 20 people in the company. To see all the lovely bikes check out the IF owners club website www.ifrider.com and you can also view the new cross bike coming soon - the SSX made of stainless steel 953.. Mint.
yes but he saw sence and got himself some proper handlebars for off roading, cyclocross is just silly, singlespeed is silly but all IF stuff is a work of art and look lovely, even the Plant X just don't see the point of it
yes they have been around for quite a while. Seen plenty of Ritchey frames with them and even spotted an old Kona that had been sliced and fitted with them
