there'll be time penalties for riders who have to change wheels, forks, bars, frames and other major components. So the event will be as much about keeping your bike in one piece as it will be about avoiding the shrapnel from your exploding arms on your sixth run. 230 riders? That's a lot of people trying to get as many runs as possible in 6 hours.
I'm all for new format events but I think I'd be happier spending the £21 for a day pass and just riding as much as I could. Unless there are some very good prizes on offer
He sleeps for most of the winter but make sure he has plenty to eat towards late autumn or he gets a bit grumpy and you wouldn't like him when he's grumpy.
He likes a wee cuddle before being tucked in at night.
the race "starts from tower 8" on the first lap only .....
the track is only open 4 hours on a normal day. so 2 extra hours for a start as well as each run being timed. and there will be control zones to stop people pushing and barging to get on the lifts etc ........ or at least thats the jist i got when i asked frazer about it .....before i sold my dh bike !!!
i foresee alot of injurys though but to be frank if yo u want you bike to last 6 hours with minimal damage then youll need to ride conservitivly
...and riding conservatively up there will mean a lot of braking which means a whole new level of arm-pump. I can see a lot of injuries too, people are used to 6/7 runs maybe. Usually with a 10-15 minute break, but they're gonna be going straight back up after each run and 'll be barely able to hold on towards the end. There'll be huge differences in ability levels too, XC riders who know the organisers from the 10 series through to World cup riders.
