I have just bought a raleigh team banana bike......I have been told that i need to replace the tyres.....and inner tubes.....the original size of the tyres are 25-622 or 700x25c .....what other size tyres and inner tubes can i use that will do the same job?
Also does anyone know how i can find out how old this bike is?
You should be able to fit a tyre from 700 x 23c upto about 32c.
Any LBS will carry the tyres.
You should be able to date the bike by looking on the front hub.
There should be a 2 digit number on there. This is a date stamp. so if it is stamped 89 then it means the hub was made in 1989, so the bike would of been made in 1989, 1990 at the latest.
Now there's a blast from the past. I really wanted one of these back in the day because i thought the colour scheme was cool. They were around at the time i got my first road bike at the age of 15 and that was 1987, so yep, late 80's to early 90's.
