I think they need to run an Etape du Viking the day before - allowing us to savour the tea and cake delights on the way, whilst remaining confident we can still hoon round without stopping on event day!!

Next year I think I will;

1. engage less politeness at the start and sprint to the first field section (even though I nipped past a dozen or so this year)

2. fit a crudcatcher

3. invest in some proper specs

It's the fairy cakes and cheese scones that do for me!!

Etape du Viking

That is a fine idea! 

Good! we passed a motion (ooher!) last night on our local roadie ride - Etape du Viking is req'd.!Not so sure if all the locals would turn out double the qty cakes and tea though?

Of concern, is that the good lady wife recently pointed that I seem more interested with the finer points of tea/cakes/cycling than family! Oh dear.............

and that's why that young girl is still clutching her teddy in A & E!
