Saw this in the Lakes this week, a pointless roadside addition.

Saw one today myself out in the country near me, and did briefly wonder if I was reading it correctly. Was starting to bonk at the time into a serious headwind, so gave it no further concern. The logic of 20c britain.

Bus routes are usually printed on maps available from the local council, transport authority, and the bus stops are provicded by them as well, so to remove the bus stop, and then possibly replace it at a latter date, cost the tax payer money so its easier and cheapr to just take it out of use and inform the traveling public as they may wait for a bus that doesnt turn up. There is also the traveline number to ring for further info on the bus stop flag.

If there is a demand , the bus companies will run buses probably funded by the local council.
