Riding buddies in the Brecon Beacons?

Hi All!

I'm about to move from the sprawling metropolis of Cheltenham to the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons (reasonably central, near Penycae). I'm really excited about all the new riding but could do with hooking up with a few local riders to get some local knowledge and also so I get to know a few people in the area!

I enjoy most types of riding but Cross Country is really where it's at for me. I'm not hugely fit but can knock out a 20 miler if I'm enjoying it!

I'm moving around the middle of November and am keen to ride ASAP.

Please will you be my friend?!

Cheers

Owen

My Bruv and 2 best  riding buddies met a local who showed them a brilliant route near the Talbybont resevoir a couple of weeks back. Apparently Steve the ex miner is an excellent guy and was just having a first test ride on his brand new Trek Fuel. I'd just injured my shoulder at Afan so I never got to do the ride and meet him, but the lads were well impressed with the new trails he showed them.

Thankyou Steve - I'll be riding that trail when my sholder is fixed. And good hunting Owen!

Talybont is not really going to be "local" riding for me but it's cerainly on thelist of places to explore! There is so much riding available in the area. I can't wait to get there!

Hey Goat Boy!

Thanks for the heads-up on MTB Wales - will post there shortly...

Penycae is central-southern edge of the National Park.

Watch out for the plastic dinosaurs of danyrogof!

i think your in the upper swansea valley right.

Lots of great riding locally and i can think of a few riders from that area who may want to join you.

You could join our wednesday night rides at afan too they are a blast!

Yeah, pretty much just down the road from the caves!

21st Nov looks like the move date so will probably give you a shout nearer the time.
