If anyone wants to join some mates and me for a ride from Hope car park on Saturday 6th Jan - we'll be there about 10.30am
Riding over to the Derwent reservoir and beyond via the great rocky downhill to Haglee
Just look for two Santa Cruz's - grey and red - more the better - there's five of us so far - it'll be medium paced or slow if I'm feeling fat
Hope to see you there

Hi Keith.

I'll try and be there (weather permitting). I'll be the fat bloke on hte Patriot. How far are you thinking of doing? Not sure I'm up to full distance after the Xmas blowout!

Thanks for replying so soon - I'm thinking of going over the top to the Derwent reservoir - have something at the cafe in the car park and then see how everyone is feeling and we'll make a decision from there - either go back a different way or carry on and do a loop onto the far side of the reservoir and then back - I've got to say I went out today and felt very fat after Christmas myself so we can all suffer together!!

May be able to make it. How difficult a ride is it and how long are you planning to be out for? I am asking this as a mountain bike owning roadie who needs to be shown the light. Would appreciate any info.

Hi Richard
we'll be out for about 3 hours or so depending on what we all feel like half way round
The ride is either up or down as everything seems to be at Hope - you fit roadies should be able to cope!!
The climbs are long and partly technical and some of the downs are very technical especially the rocky drop to the A57 - nothing you cant handle at your own pace
come along I'm sure you'll enjoy it - we're not lunatic downhillers you know!!

Keith, sorry I didn't make it, feeling pretty rough with cold that everyone seems to have. Would like to try and make next one so will look out for new threads. Hope you had a good one anyway. Cheers.

Oops sorry Keith!

despite the clear indication in the title, my mind automatically substituted sunday for saturday. many humble apologies for not turning up, doh!

Hope you all had a good ride - you were definitely lucky with the weather.

I'll keep an eye open for further rides.

Cheers.
