Mountain biking in corsica

Any information on corsica for mountain biking. The best aea to stay and things.
I mean I know its all mountainous in the middle and its french so they love bikes but anyone know anything else? thanks.

Again, I'll dig up some old german mags - I'm sure they ridden and rated it.
If I remember rightly there is a ride from end to end of the island. And it is covered by hundreds of huge nasty thorns.

The full Corsica traverse is 600km with 12000m of climb. (recommended 8 days).
The highest rideable point is 2343m. The article stresses two things - don't use hire bikes (crap) and there are loads of thorns (punctures and ripped flesh).
Take plenty spare tubes and a good pump!

My wife's just mentioned that she'd seen Corsica on some holiday prog and thought it looked like a decent place for her on the beach and a chance for me to get some riding in.

I'd be interested to know what you've found out about accommodation/travelling/ getting your bike there etc, or from anyone else who's already been there, done that,got the "T" shirt, Hi Kev!!
