Myself and some friends plan to do the coast to coast this summer, the route from St Bees to Robinhoods bay. We plan to do it in a week and we will be camping due to a friend having a mini bus who will carry the tents etc too keep costs down.As anyone done it?

Two choices (P.S. much better to do the robin hood's bay finish - loads of excellent riding in the dales & moors that the C2C misses out on)
Tim Woodcock's book - nominally 7 days - cut a few bits out.
Look up coast to coast on www.offroadadventures-online.co.uk (top menu/epic rides/multi day) for a full description of my 4/5 day 'direct' coast to coast.
(or actually come to think of it its on BM now - try a search).
Email me for any more info Damon.

I must agree with Kevin, Tim Woodcocks route is the best route!!.
Order the instructions, on the website Kev's said then get the original book from the libary to scan the maps from and then get them laminated!
I enjoyed it so much, that since I've done the West Coutry Way (Weston-Super-Mare to Eastbourne) by Tim, and at the moment I'm planning the Sarn Helen Trail (North 2 South Wales).
Be carfull how much you plan 2 do too much in a day as the lakes are tough going when carrying a back pack, we managed it in four and a half days!
Pheww Good Luck!!

Qpps made a mistake the web site you will need to order Tim's route is in fact
www.mbruk.co.uk and do not to cut the route down as from my experiance Mr Woodcock always sends you the long way around to take in the best trails/veiws, this man knows his stuff!!
