Looking for some rides in the Derbyshire area...Will be moving over to the UK in march. I currently ride and train in North Vancouver (the North Shore)

Will also be looking for a club to join, good lbs ...etc.
thanks,

Hugely variable is the answer to that. If you ride in the South or East of the county it tends more to the rolling rather than mountainous, but in the northwest of the county you have the Peak District National Park which contains a whole slew of great riding. Don't think you'll find any handbuilt trails like the North Shore ones though :).

The Yorkshire Dales and Lake district are fairly accessible too, so you'll have plenty of choice. if you're coming in March why not check out the Offroad Tour of the Peak website, it's an organised event that you could enter that should give you a good taste of Peak District riding. The URL is:

Sorry, should have mentioned that the ORTP is in May.

Ian - my offer still stands if you want a ride once you're over here - mail me
Get yourself the ordnance survey white peak and dark peak maps and link up some bridleways - of course this doesnt cover all of the best trails
The northern end(dark peak) is more rocky and higher than the white peak area but that doesnt mean the southern trails arent as good - just different
Hope to see you for a ride
