bizarre. RobM is shown as the last contributor at 18.32, but the last post I can see is from Martin O at 18.14

I can see text ok, yours too.
but one of yours on the Washburn thread was like that (to me anyway), name but no text, I just thought you'd posted by accident - was there text there really?
Dunno what gives - BM does all manner of quirky things with me, does the Washburn thread always open at page 23 for you? does me - weird.

anyways, as requested, boring picture of the day - internals of a DX 'Magicshine' battery... ...except mine isn't actually a Magicshine, pretty sure it's the same thing tho'. oh, and thanx Paul for the route finding tonight, freaky warm & as dry as needs to be - riding well out there. No punctures either!
Yes Cheers Paul - all good stuff and some I'd not done before.
thanks Paul...annoyingly squeaky front brake aside...very nice riding...
Cheers for the ride last night Paul, and the rest of you. Great to get out again nite riding, and now, unfortunately for you, I'll be a regular. Unless it rains.

Cheers Paul and Rob for ride and battery pics. i'm amazed my 11 year old bike went so well. Rob, I've taken my battery pack apart and you can see the results here some water has obviously got in as there is a bit of rust, there was some moisture and one of the linking strips between the the batteries and cicuit board is broken. is this fixable? will a simple solder fix it? or do i need a new circuit board? is this easy to get my hands on? cheers for any answers/ help
Joek if it were me I would replace the strip with a piece of cable cos that would be easier to find then resolder and job done.
cheer sturmey. will try. any sodlering tips? have solder tool but never used.
well after some trial and error, a youtube video, some horrible soldering, i seem to have made it work! there's a wire not connected (the little red one hiding at the back) but the light works!? see here anybody know if the red wire is essential? i assumed it gave + power ot the circuit board as the two on the top were both -, but apparently not??
hmm, seems you have a completely different circuit board then mine. I just have red & black from board to lamp, as one might expect really.
I'm assuming you must have two leads of some colour or other connecting to the lamp head, else it wouldn't work.
two on the top were both - ? you mean there are two -ve connections or two black wires? are these both feeding the lamp head?
If it works then no worries, but that red must have gone somewhere. Is the end bared & soldered? any blobs of solder on the board where it could have been?
Does it still cycle through all the modes and light the green status light?

I've just found out why I couldn't see Rob's posts - for some reason he was in my 'ignore' list - don't know how that happened, it certainly wasn't deliberate! :-0 fixed now, hope you're not too offended Rob
