Hi chaps. Just logged in and noticed the comment about the resurfaced trails. I'd like to add that part of my local circuit, the fast descent to the ford below Blacka Moor, which used to be loose and entertaining, with big sticky-uppy sleepers every 20 yards to either jump or (like me) bounce over, has also been resurfaced with compacted cinders, up to the level of the sleepers, so it's smoother than forest road now. Sigh... It'll be Houndkirk Road next.

The forecast does not look too sunny
Seems pretty damn sunny to me hot even. I'm back Sunday btw, if anyone's around next week during the day and fancies a ride, just shout, possibly by e-mail.

Not so much for the trails in the Peak but certainly the one you mention Brian this should be of some help. A contact of Singletractions, Henry Norman, has recently joined the Sheffield city council access forum to represent Mountain Bikers.
This was a much needed addtition as there were already representatives from other Bridleway users such as horse riders. If you have any issues to raise at a meeting with regards to Bridleway condition etc, then please email henry.norman@sustrans.org.uk Hes a great bloke who will represent MTB riders intrests well.

Aha! Brilliant piece of info Simon. Thanks.

 Weekend?
Evenin' Jon. Hope you enjoyed Spain, were you with Simon and Emma? Had a quick blast in the peaks last Sat'day with Ryan and Geoff, and a chap called Pete that works with Ryan. The trails were fast, dry and dusty, just like Lanjaron. We bumped into Dave (neighbour & triathlete), In fact I've bumped into him two or three times in the last few weeks. Super nice bloke.

weekend.... yes please.... can it be dry and 27 degrees? off to Lanjaron - whoop! see you in a week

Hi Davey, I was out with Dave and his lad at Llandegla yesterday - it was rubbish, but that's my relationship with trail centres for you - he mentioned seeing you, and yep, he's a very nice chap. For once I wasn't out in Llanjaron, was in the French Pyrenees with AQR and Wayne and Steevo for that matter. Anyway, we'll have to hook up for a ride some time, I've not seen Ryan for ages. Peak trails are still riding really well, Cut Gate on Thursday was immense

Ah, I'm reliably informed that Llandegla is rubbish. So it's not just me then
So who is around for a "normal" Thursday night ride this week (tomorrow). I'm in the Peak, riding tomorrow morning, eating lots and have charged lights ready for a spin out in the darkness?
7:30, but where.....
Provisionally 7.30 from mine, if anyone else is around and up for it, with fish'n'chips to follow. Ace night ride last night with the Hayfield lot. Big grin stuff in strangely mild conditions. Write-up here: http://tinyurl.com/yhadfb5 I see Rob's brought his rubbish southern weather with him....

Hi guys, just wondering if these rides are still going on? Im a fairly novice and was just up at the whaley bridge station and knocked about Fernilee Reservoir. Would love to see more of the Peaks since im on holiday right now heh and im acting like a lazy bum between rides.
Hi Kevin, we're a bit dormant at the moment, occasional Thursday nighters and the odd weekend ride too - people moving away, having babies etc. There's a regular Wednesday nighter from the Royal Hotel in Hayfield, which is friendly enough. Also google 'Twisted Wheels' for a Manchester area club. HTH.
