Does anyone know of any websites, or books, where I can find some off road routes, for this area?

I can try and help you out, I live near Belmont Village just off the back of Rivington, there are no books with marked trails etc but I get up there most Sundays and on Wednesday evenings to ride.
I just got out and rode the place really, there are some hidden trails but there are a lot that once you have ridden them they are easy to find again and add to. Drop me a mail if you need any further info

I Live in Edgworth and cycle over there quite often. There are a couple of booklets you can get from Great Barn Rivington or the Tockholes car park country ranger shop with a few rides in them but if you have an OS Map you can pretty much work it out. You can extend over Belmont road up onto Darwen Moor, some good trails around Darwen Tower and the cut over the reservoirs and join up to HArcles Hill / Peel Tower if you want (The Butchers in Edgworth does a mean all day breakfast barmcake for a mid ride meal)
