BTW I am doing the Humber duathlon, a week on Sunday. All support welcome, a quick pre & post race rub down would be much appreciated....

Flat bars Ted. (ok. and anticipating your reply I do ocasionally put in an apperance at work) It is now the work bike and shoping. I do think it would look rather nice with a basket on the front. Look Karl we are divorced now, the days of a rub down are over ok.

Karlos: " a link" Dream on dude, I am hanging onto this here modern technology by my fingernails! I am much happier with a B4 italic nib and cartridge paper! I can only suggest going into the music section of you tube and search for 'flamenco ted' Brian: NO ONE works for the council, you just turn up and take the money! Anway I digress, what is a duathlon? Is some AC/DC sex session privy only to roadies? Ps Karlos: I noticed on your sadly departed XTC that you had removed the Manitou Splce and inserted a rigid fork. Why did you did do that petal? Brig. Sir Ted of Sproatley RN. (Rtd ) Cheese breeder of the year 1976

I took the suspension off to create a rigid hybrid commuter, which the good lady Mrs DK used for work.
A wise move Sir Karlos. Why not just use the lockout on the Splice?

Christ Ted, you are awesome, just been checking out your stuff again on Youtube, amazing. I am but a complete ignoramus but we have been listening to a lot of Rodrigo y Gabriella lately, you must recommend me some more listening. The lovely Mrs DK intends to learn such wizardry when she has finished her degree. Tell me, how many milenia has it taken you to get that good? Re the bike, it didn't come with a splice it came with a Marzocchi summat or other, but 100mm of travel was not needed on the city roads of dirty, filthy Hull.
My fave was this:-

 Actually, this is best

Yo Karlos. Thanks for doing the link thingy. 'How long does it take to learn?' Dunno... people absorb at their own speeds and/or rate of obsession. For me it was simple, my parents dragged me and my sister to Spain with them every summer from the early 60's until I fucked off and left home in 1976. BUT.... the music nagged and gnawed at me .. so I started to teach myself Flamenco guitar. a similar thing happened to my sister, she became obsessed by the language and ended up with a Phd in Spanish. All because our parents wanted to prat about in the sun! El Ted mucho

Good stuff, my missus speaks Spanish (and Italian & French). We want to move to the Pyrenees, one day.

Is anybody playing out at mountain biking this Saturday?
Ok......but please stop calling me Afan.
My wife bought a new bike last week so I've just been on the beginners forum to see if there's any useful tips for her. I'll be directing her to the Pedal Power to Keep Fit thread......aceness squared!! Haven't got to the end of it yet as I'm getting funny looks in the office.
LOL I am out on the roadie this Sunday with Barracuda Tri club. Might go out on the MTB this aft though
What did the missus get Gary, Yeti 575 or summat ?
Specialized Mica Elite......not up to peddling any lorries about yet. I think Ted rides with the Barracuda Bi club.
When you say your 'missus', are you in actual fact referring to Ted (pipe smoker of the year 1973)?
 No......the other Ted, 1968.
