hi brothers and sisters of the wheel,

today i was lucky enough to be roadside as the tour passed through wolverhampton and what can i say but what a feckin` buzz!! i`m a mtb rider and don`t really follow road cycling but today when that first group went passed and the crowd were clapping and cheering the hairs on my body were standing on end!!! the riders looked awesome and super fast and even when the support vehicles went passed with all the spare bikes on i was in awe of the professionalism of road cycling. what a great advert for cycling!!!!

Missed it yesterday. Had thought about watching them on the climb out of Coalport but after witnessing the speed they travelled at when they came through Cannock Chase last year I didn't think the 80 mile round trip for a brief glimpse was worth while.

SB, it's Liverpool to Kendal on Friday. Route

Broadcast scheduled for this Sunday, BBC2 at 12:30pm and lasts 2 hours, although I'm anticipating the coverage will be like last year - too much waffling and not much action.

Whatever happened to the Milk Race?

Guardian Unlimited:

"the two-week amateur stage event round Britain which was sponsored by the now defunct Milk Marketing Board for 36 years until its demise in 1993."

A few years ago there were rumours that a company called Milk Race Ltd would begin another era but that never materialised.
