Erm, isnt providing a link to a 2004 jacket guide a bit naff? I mean thats before eVent changed everything. I mean its goes on as if Gore-Tex is top dog, which it clearly isnt anymore, therefore the article shouldnt be provided as any kind of guide, as it is misleading.

Like all journalism, it's someones opinion.  If he thinks Gore-Tex rules then so be it.  If you want more real world opinion, check the forum or the reviews.

Its not that he thinks that, its that he's linked to an article from 3-4 years ago, i mean, even if something like eVent hadnt come along, thats out of date by anyones reckoning, surely?

Fair call.  I just thought he may have particularly liked Goretex (I hate the stuff personally - too sweaty).  The article may still have relevant info though.  Things like fit and theory don't change.

Just get an Endura Stealth jacket, who needs reviews!

What size do you take Mike S? The reviews on CRC say sizing is problematic. My Adidias Climashell Storm is near enough perfect on the MTB but I'm tempted by something more visible (red rather than grey) and closer fitting for the road.

I'd say that the sizing is similar to Assos in that I have a large Stealth jacket where I'd have a medium in Pearl Izumi.  Day to day clothes would be medium.

Endura stuff can be like that John - I've 2 pairs of Humvees that are, in theory, the same size but they are not & the same goes for the MT500's.

IME they tend to be a little on the small side & my Stealth tights are a tad shorter/more snug than my others in the same size.

Don't have the jacket yet but will get one once my eVent gives up.

Edit: Damn my slow typing....

I'd say medium for you John, unless you've been on the pies since I saw you last.

Thanks Mike. I'm about a kilo lighter than when you saw me but I'm working on replacing it before the weather gets too cold.

MBUK last month had a review of a Gill jacket that hasn't been made for a year

Just to echo what Mike said, Endura Stealth seems to be a good choice
