Evening Ally, Just about recovered from the whinlatter slog!. 36 miles of climbing (felt like!) although the weather and views were cracking. Was talking to someone else about gisbuen - sounds pretty promising doesn't it? Won't be able to do the enduro though as it's the weekend before we go away and no doubt i'll be cleaning/packing/fixing

i read the stuff on hobo thread about whinlatter, sounded a bit grim.
im gonna try out lee quarry at Bacup on the way home from work wed night, sounds like fun.
DJ, hows the injury doing ? are you still gonna manage your FRed Whitton (?) thingy ?
Kate - did you do any damage in your Whinlatter tumble ?

I just found a new bruise from the Whinlatter Tumble. Its only just appeared Bright red/purple circle on my inner thigh.

How do folks. can't do the Gisburn one as too close to Mountain Mayhem Still off the bike due to trapped nerve in neck / shoulder. Thanks for asking Ally It is bl00dy killing me. - both the actual pain and the pain of not being able to get on my bike. I'm already looking into selling my entry into the Fred Whitton. This makes me very very very unhappy. Guess i'll have to look at doing one later in the year.

Eyup, how's it all going? Long time no speak. Hope the weather's been drying up for you. All good here, took part in the Dirtworks 100kms on Sunday, managed to get round in 6hours 44mins which was a real surprise, came 155th out of 391 in category. There's some pics here http://www.auroraimages.com.au/index.php?module=search&pId=106&keyword=288&imageField.x=0&imageField.y=0&category_search=gallery%2Fevents%2Fmtb%2Fdw09 Was a real good day, there was some good riding, including a kayak bridge crossing (which I walkedalong wiht the majority of other riders) about 980 competitors in all. Hope the ridings been good, take it easy and let me know what's the news.

G'day Rednecks, Doesn't look like much gets posted up here these days! Hope you're all well and enjoying the Great British summer and getting out doing lotsa riding. Been a bit quiet here recently, got struck down by a bacterial infection my right leg, which then shifted to my left leg before my immune system went haywire and gave me allsorts of problems. Anyway, seems to be getting better now. Few weeks ago I bought my first single speed, a haro mary 29'r, it's reet fun. It's fixed so hard going on rocky stuff but great to ride through singletrack. I've changed the rear cog so I'm now riding 32:16 which is probably about right, if a bit of a push at times. THought you might like to check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn29DvMITu4&feature=player_embedded Take it all easy, hope you're all having fun Miss ya USA

Well well well, another year been and gone! It doesn't seem so long ago that millenium celebrations were under way and talk was of how the world was going to implode as a result of the millenium bug! Anyway, I digress, I just wanted to wish you and your families a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010. Garry and Vic are hosting a NYE party tonight at theirs, they have pretty much the best view of the harbour bridge that anyone could ask for. I hope that you all have fun whatever you are up to. I am hoping to arrange a holiday back in the UK next June/July (the rainy season) and fully intend to bring my bike and include a few days up North as part of it, I'll keep you updated as my plans fall into place. On the riding front I have signed up to ride stage 4 of the tour down under on the 22 Jan (Lance is competing and it will be a first outing for the Team Sky boys) prior to the professional stage, it's 160.5kms! I have managed to wangle a work trip down for a few days of the tour so may get to see some riding if I'm lucky. it's all based out of Adelaide with stages starting there and finishing out in the hills out back. Good luck everyone, have a great day and evening and hopefully see you in 2010. USA
