I am going to afan  next month with a bunch of guys and we're looking for a trail away from the purpose built trails that will give us a reasonable all-day ride similar in length to the skyline trail at glyncorrwyg ponds (sorry about the spelling!!).  We have done that one and there was too much fire road riding for us so we're looking for something with more singletrack if possible, maybe on the southern side of the brecon beacons.  We're looking for something say maximum one hour drive from port talbot where we will be staying.

One of the mags did a route around the llwyn-on reservoir - is it any good? - how long? anyone got a copy or know a link?

Thanks in advance for any advice guys!

The killer loop and the gap, are both good loops, there is a bit of road work on the killer loop, and an unridable climb towards the end, but still an enjoyable day on the bike.

Also good is the gower loop, some nice coastal views and sea air, and much closer to port talbot.

all can be found here

I think I also have pdf maps for them all, if your interested I will email them to you.
